Mini-Series About Entrepreneurship: Article #10: Out Of Balance

Last week I went to Portland, OR, for training. I trained on improving business practices. In fact, this is where I met Dr. Stephen Ruby, my friend and colleague. Yet, the training turned out to be a mix between business best practices and personal growth.  Some people understand this concept that your business is an extension of yourself.  I never saw my business that way, I saw my business as a separate thing from me. Hence the reason why it is its own entity, with its own “personality” if you will.

As I went through the different workshops last week, I realized how much of myself was reflected in my business. After recognizing some of my personality traits, I realized why my business has the personality that it has. I invite you to go ahead and analyze yourself a bit. If you are honest with yourself, or better yet, use a coach, since it is inherently impossible to assess yourself without any bias, you will see that your business culture is a reflection of your own personal traits. Don’t take my word for it, find out yourself. You will be . . . surprised to say the least.
