As I go through coaching at EMyth, I began to realize, that as time went by, the engineer and the technician in me, had taken over at a subconscious level. This situation had begun to preclude me from enjoying the coaching and had robbed me from this wonderful experience. As I discussed this situation with my coach, very eloquently she said, “…you need to be present, you need to show up.”
That statement did not sink in right away. Quite the opposite. I was frustrated because I was thinking to myself, “if I wasn’t here, then where the hell was I? I’ve been here, I haven’t missed a session, hello!” Then, it dawned on me! Omar Capellan, the engineer and technician were showing up to the sessions, completing the assignments (notice that I used the word assignment on purpose as opposed to process) and checking off the “To-Do” list.
But the manager, key member to this whole thing, was missing altogether because the manager was squished-in between the entrepreneur and the overtaking technician. The manager was nowhere to be found, hence the manager had never assigned priority nor any real time to the experience. In essence, I was sabotaging my own EMyth experience.
The more I get into this coaching process, the more amazed I get! As the pain of growth and the frustrations begin to subside, new ones pop up! At times, it makes you wonder, is it really worth all this trouble? And the answer is a resounding… YES, of course! Today, as I write this, as I am going through this “Aha” moment, where both the pain and frustration are subsiding, I bet that the next hurdle is right around the corner. Am I looking forward to it? No! Do I welcome it? With open arms… ok, maybe not with open arms but you get the idea!
